Army Vet Faces Espionage Charges for Exposing Secrets of Elite Unit Amid Harassment Allegations

Courtney Williams, a 40-year-old Army veteran from North Carolina, was arrested and charged with violating federal law by sharing classified information about a secretive special military unit stationed at Fort Bragg. Williams’ texts to the journalist express concern over the amount of classified data published under her name and acknowledge the legal risks she faced. The government alleges she gathered at least 10 batches of classified documents intended for disclosure.
