Conservative Letter Defends Voter Fraud Claims with Dubious Sources and Debunked Narratives
A recent letter to the editor doubles down on baseless voter fraud allegations and recycles discredited Trump-era talking points about Iran and Epstein. The writer’s “extensively researched” claims rely on shaky sources and ignore overwhelming evidence debunking election fraud and misconduct accusations.
A letter published in the Times News by Wanda Dietz of Franklin Township attempts to defend a previous letter alleging widespread voter fraud in Pennsylvania and beyond. Dietz insists her claims are “painstakingly researched” and cites outlets like Spotlight PA and the Heritage Foundation to support assertions of thousands of fraudulent votes cast by noncitizens. But these figures have been repeatedly debunked or taken out of context by election officials and independent fact-checkers.
Dietz also resurrects discredited Trump administration talking points, praising the former president’s supposed efforts to seize “highly enriched uranium” from Iran. She claims Trump targeted “970 pounds of nuclear dust at 60% enrichment” removed from Iranian sites, framing it as a national security victory. This narrative ignores that Trump’s Iran policies were chaotic and undermined diplomatic efforts, while the uranium claim lacks credible evidence and is not supported by mainstream reporting.
The letter further attempts to deflect scrutiny of Trump’s ties to Jeffrey Epstein by dismissing the “tired old Epstein nonsense” and asserting survivors never implicated Trump. This is a gross misrepresentation of the public record and survivor testimonies. Dietz also attacks President Joe Biden for allegedly failing to act on Epstein-related issues during his tenure, ignoring that Epstein died in 2019, before Biden took office.
Throughout the letter, Dietz accuses critics of condescension and dishonesty, yet fails to provide verifiable sources for her own claims. The reliance on partisan outlets and recycled conspiracy theories underscores a broader pattern of election denialism and misinformation that continues to threaten democratic norms.
At a time when election integrity is under assault by baseless fraud claims, letters like Dietz’s contribute to the erosion of public trust and fuel political polarization. Only Clowns Are Orange remains committed to exposing these misleading narratives and holding accountable those who spread them without evidence.
