Conspiracy Theorists Hijack Epstein Files With AI Tools to Spin New Lies

As the Department of Justice releases millions of Epstein-related documents, conspiracy theorists are using AI-powered platforms to turn this massive data trove into a playground for misinformation. These slick interfaces cloak wild theories in the guise of data analysis, fueling paranoia and spreading baseless narratives tied to QAnon and other discredited movements.

Conspiracy Theorists Hijack Epstein Files With AI Tools to Spin New Lies

The Epstein files have become a sprawling digital labyrinth of PDFs, videos, and court documents — a perfect storm for conspiracy theorists eager to connect dots that don’t exist. The Department of Justice’s clunky official interface has left a vacuum that private actors are rushing to fill with AI-driven platforms promising “document intelligence” and “structured, searchable intelligence.”

One such platform, WEBB, named after investigative journalist Gary Webb, claims to automate the tedious task of cleaning and indexing the files, presenting itself as an objective research tool. But behind the gloss, WEBB is co-created by Ian Carroll, a known antisemitic conspiracy influencer who has pushed narratives about Jewish cabals, 9/11 “truthers,” and the debunked Pizzagate hoax. Carroll uses WEBB to amplify his conspiracies to a massive online audience, blending Epstein’s case with other fringe theories about satanic cults, CIA mind control programs, and more.

WEBB and similar sites like Epstein Exposed and Epstein File Search market themselves as platforms for “doing your own research.” But they actively encourage users to dive down rabbit holes filled with misinformation, often repackaged as data-driven insights. These platforms exploit a classic logical fallacy — assuming that because one event follows another, the first must have caused the second — to weave elaborate tales that have no basis in fact.

The problem is not just that conspiracy theorists are spinning stories. These AI tools give their claims a veneer of legitimacy by presenting them as the output of sophisticated data analysis. This “conspiracy of data” makes falsehoods harder to spot and easier to spread, especially when social media influencers jump in with viral videos interpreting the files through a conspiratorial lens.

WEBB’s creators have even announced plans to expand their platform to include other conspiracy-related datasets, like 9/11 and UFO documents, alongside biblical texts. This mashup threatens to further blur the line between credible investigation and fantasy, all while charging users for “enterprise” access to their AI-powered spin machine.

In a moment when transparency and accountability are desperately needed to expose the Epstein network’s real enablers, these AI-fueled conspiracy platforms threaten to drown truth in a flood of disinformation. The public deserves better than to have justice and facts weaponized by grifters and charlatans hiding behind AI interfaces.

We will keep tracking these developments and hold these platforms accountable for spreading lies under the guise of data analysis. The Epstein files should illuminate corruption and abuse — not fuel new waves of dangerous misinformation.
