DOJ Caught Lying About Pam Bondi Deposition as She Skips Congressional Subpoena

The Department of Justice falsely claimed former AG Pam Bondi coordinated her deposition date with Oversight Democrats — she didn’t. Bondi blew off a bipartisan subpoena tied to the Epstein investigation, prompting Democrats to push a civil contempt resolution to force her testimony.

DOJ Caught Lying About Pam Bondi Deposition as She Skips Congressional Subpoena

The latest episode in the ongoing Epstein files cover-up just got uglier. The Department of Justice lied outright when it said former Attorney General Pam Bondi, through her lawyers, had communicated with House Oversight Democrats to confirm her deposition date. In reality, Bondi skipped her scheduled deposition on April 14, 2026, and Democrats say they never heard a word from her or her counsel despite repeated outreach.

Oversight Committee Chair James Comer, a Republican, confirmed on the record that he did not inform Democrats of any deposition date and admitted he had no idea if they were even aware one had been set. This exposes a coordinated effort by Bondi and Oversight Republicans to keep Democrats in the dark while trying to claim they’re cooperating.

Sara Guerrero, spokesperson for Oversight Democrats, called the DOJ’s claims “a bald-faced lie.” She noted that just 45 minutes after Democrats filed a resolution to hold Bondi in civil contempt of Congress, Oversight Republicans announced a deposition date — one that Democrats had no input on and were not informed about. Guerrero said, “We forced them to act and they’re trying to continue their shameless cover-up.”

The contempt resolution came on April 29, 2026, filed by Rep. Robert Garcia and all Democratic members of the Oversight Committee. It seeks to compel Bondi’s testimony in court after she defied a bipartisan subpoena related to the Epstein investigation and the White House’s ongoing cover-up of the files.

This subpoena was secured in March 2026 with rare bipartisan support, including from Republican Reps. Nancy Mace, Lauren Boebert, Michael Cloud, Scott Perry, and Tim Burchett. The Oversight Committee passed the subpoena 24 to 19. Despite the subpoena remaining legally binding even after Bondi’s firing, she refused to appear for her deposition.

Bondi’s no-show and the DOJ’s lies only deepen the suspicion that powerful figures are working overtime to obstruct justice and shield the full truth about the Epstein scandal from Congress and the public. This stonewalling is exactly why Oversight Democrats are pushing hard to hold Bondi accountable and break open the White House’s cover-up.

We will keep watching as this fight unfolds. No one, not even a former Attorney General, is above the law — especially when it comes to the Epstein files and protecting democracy from corruption and secrecy.
