Don’t Fall for the Fake Met Gala Dress Made of Epstein Articles

Social media lit up in early May 2026 with an eye-catching image supposedly showing a Met Gala attendee named Laree Chante wearing a dress constructed from newspaper clippings about Jeffrey Epstein. The post, shared widely on X, Facebook, and Instagram, urged the release of the Epstein files, but the image is entirely fake.

We verified the claim by searching for any record of Laree Chante attending the Met Gala. Vanity Fair’s official guest list for the 2026 event does not include anyone by that name. Professional photographers and media outlets covering the gala have no images or reports matching this scene.

The original image was posted by an Instagram account called @mslareechante, which openly describes itself as an “AI Prompt Queen” using artificial intelligence to create “magic” from real photos. The account’s feed is filled with AI-generated images, including other politically charged dresses referencing America’s history and rights.

This isn’t the first time AI-generated images have been weaponized to spread misleading narratives involving Epstein. Earlier this year, Snopes debunked similar fake photos showing Epstein with Melania Trump.

In an era where AI can fabricate convincing yet false visuals, it’s crucial to pause and verify before sharing sensational images. The Met Gala dress made of Epstein articles is a digital creation, not a real protest or fashion statement on the red carpet.
