Epstein Survivors Slam Melania Trump’s Denial, Demand She Testify Under Oath

Melania Trump’s attempt to distance herself from convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his notorious accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell has backfired spectacularly. In a public statement Thursday, the first lady insisted she was “not Epstein’s victim” and denied that Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump. She also downplayed an email she sent to Maxwell in 2002, calling it “casual correspondence” and “a trivial note” despite its troubling context.

But survivors of Epstein’s trafficking ring and Democratic members of the House Oversight Committee are having none of it. They are demanding that Melania Trump come before Congress and testify under oath about her alleged connections to Epstein and Maxwell. Rep. Suhas Subramanyam (D-Va.) called her statement “just a shameless book promotion” unless she agrees to an official hearing.

California Reps. Ro Khanna and Robert Garcia echoed the call for transparency, urging the first lady to use her influence to push for the full release of Epstein files and to support investigations into the trafficking network. Khanna emphasized that the burden should not fall on survivors, who have already endured immense trauma.

Survivors themselves have issued a scathing letter condemning Melania Trump’s statement as an attempt to shift blame onto those who have already come forward. The letter, signed by 15 survivors, states: “Survivors have done their part. Now it’s time for those in power to do theirs.” They also demand accountability for former Attorney General Pam Bondi, recently fired by Trump, who allegedly revealed survivors’ identities and concealed critical files.

This clash highlights a broader pattern of powerful figures evading scrutiny while survivors are repeatedly asked to relive their trauma. Melania Trump’s refusal to fully engage with the Oversight Committee’s investigation only deepens suspicions about the true extent of her ties to Epstein’s network.

As pressure mounts, the question remains: will the first lady step up to clear her name under oath, or continue to hide behind carefully worded denials while survivors fight for justice? The public deserves answers, not deflections.
