FBI Director Kash Patel Freaks Out, Orders Mass Lie Detector Tests to Root Out Leakers
FBI Director Kash Patel is spiraling after a damning Atlantic report exposed his wild behavior and leadership failures. Sources say he’s ordering polygraphs for dozens of staff while isolating himself from senior bureau officials in a desperate bid to save his job.
FBI Director Kash Patel is in full panic mode. Following a scathing Atlantic exposé that detailed his excessive drinking, erratic absences, and alienation of bureau staff, Patel has reportedly ordered more than two dozen current and former security detail members to take lie detector tests. The goal: to flush out whistleblowers leaking damaging information about his conduct.
According to sources briefed on the situation and cited by MS Now, Patel has closed himself off from senior FBI leaders and is dodging meetings as he tries to contain the fallout. His focus is on staff who travel with him or have access to sensitive information, hoping to identify anyone talking to the press.
The Atlantic’s Sarah Fitzpatrick revealed that over two dozen FBI insiders warned Patel’s behavior was becoming a liability, jeopardizing the bureau’s integrity. Patel denies these claims and has sued the Atlantic for defamation, while the FBI reportedly launched an investigation into Fitzpatrick—a claim the bureau spokesman calls “completely false.”
This is not Patel’s first polygraph panic. After a case of personalized bourbon he gifted to FBI staff went missing during a training seminar, Patel allegedly “lost his mind” and threatened multiple agents with polygraph tests and prosecution, according to retired agent Kurt Siuzdak.
Patel’s reckless conduct extends beyond booze and polygraphs. He’s drawn scrutiny for giving his country music singer girlfriend a SWAT security detail and allegedly using government jets for personal trips. A leaked 115-page dossier by FBI agents painted Patel as unfit to lead, accusing him of prioritizing optics over substance and being “in over his head.”
Even former President Donald Trump reportedly disapproved of Patel’s boozy antics, including chugging beers with the Team USA Men’s Hockey team after their Olympic gold win—an optics disaster for officials claiming to be on government business.
Patel’s escalating paranoia and erratic leadership threaten to further damage the FBI’s credibility at a time when the bureau needs steady, principled leadership. His attempts to silence dissent through polygraphs and investigations only deepen the crisis of trust within the agency. The question now is whether Patel can survive the storm he has created or if his tenure will be remembered as a chaotic chapter of FBI history.
