FBI Director Kash Patel’s Branded Bourbon Gifts Exposed Amid Drunkenness Allegations
Kash Patel, Trump’s controversial FBI director, is handing out personalized bourbon bottles stamped with his name and FBI insignia even as multiple sources allege he drinks excessively on the job. Patel denies the claims and insists the bourbon giveaways are standard FBI tradition, but his tenure is already marred by missteps and misuse of agency resources.
Kash Patel, the FBI director handpicked by Donald Trump despite glaring inexperience and a history as a MAGA podcaster, has been caught distributing branded bottles of bourbon bearing his signature and an FBI shield, according to a report by The Atlantic. This revelation comes as Patel faces serious allegations from multiple sources that he drinks heavily while on duty and has exhibited erratic behavior linked to intoxication.
The personalized bourbon bottles, produced by Kentucky’s Woodford Reserve distillery, feature a label emblazoned with “Kash Patel FBI Director,” an eagle clutching an FBI shield, and the number nine—signifying Patel as the ninth FBI director. Notably, Patel’s name on the label uses a dollar sign in place of the letter “S,” a nod to his pre-administration persona. The FBI confirmed Patel does hand out such bottles but framed them as part of a long-standing bureau tradition of exchanging commemorative gifts among senior officials, insisting Patel follows ethical guidelines and pays for the gifts himself.
The bourbon freebies are just the latest in a string of controversies surrounding Patel. The Atlantic’s report, which Patel is suing over for $250 million, alleges he was repeatedly found intoxicated and unresponsive by his security detail, once requiring “breaching equipment” to enter his locked office. On another occasion, Patel reportedly panicked after being locked out of his computer, mistakenly believing Trump had fired him.
Patel’s leadership has been riddled with public blunders, including premature announcements about suspects in high-profile shootings that were later proven false. He also faces scrutiny for alleged misuse of FBI resources related to his girlfriend, country singer Alexis Wilkins. This includes claims Patel used FBI planes and assigned SWAT teams as personal security for Wilkins, accusations he vehemently denies.
Despite the mounting evidence of mismanagement and misconduct, Patel remains defiant, dismissing the allegations as “all false” and challenging The Atlantic to court. His tenure exemplifies the politicization and erosion of professionalism within federal law enforcement under the Trump administration’s influence.
At a time when trust in the FBI is critical, Patel’s reckless behavior and questionable use of agency power only deepen concerns about the bureau’s independence and integrity. We will continue to monitor this unfolding scandal and hold those in power accountable for abusing their positions.
