Jonathan Majors to Star in Action Movie From Daily Wire - The Hollywood Reporter
Jonathan Majors is set to star in a new action film directed by Kyle Rankin, produced by Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend, marking one of his first projects since his 2023 assault conviction. The film, currently in production in South Carolina, is described as being similar in tone to "Red Dawn" and "Toy Soldiers," but plot details have not been disclosed. Following his legal issues and resulting industry setbacks, including being dropped by Marvel, Majors has been seeking new acting opportunities and recently appeared in the indie film "Magazine Dreams," which was released in 2025.

Jonathan Majors is getting started on a new feature as he continues to pursue projects outside of the studio system following his 2023 conviction for assault and harassment.
Majors is set to star in writer-director Kyle Rankin’s action movie that hails from Daily Wire and Bonfire Legend. The title and plot details have not yet been shared for the film that launched production this week in South Carolina and has been described as being in the vein of Red Dawn and *Toy Soldiers. *
Producers include Ben Shapiro for Daily Wire and Dallas Sonnier for Bonfire Legend. Travis Mills, Lillian Campbell and Sydney Aucreman are also producing. The two production companies previously collaborated with Rankin on his 2020 film Run Hide Fight that starred Isabel May and Thomas Jane and premiered at the Venice Film Festival.

After his conviction that stemmed from an incident with ex-partner Grace Jabbari, Majors was dropped by Marvel as villain Kang the Conqueror and also let go from the starring role of Dennis Rodman in Lionsgate’s * 48 Hours in Vegas* ahead of production. The actor has yet to book studio work since then but did land a role in the
indie filmfrom director Martin Villeneuve.
Merciless Majors starred in the bodybuilding drama Magazine Dreams, which was a sensation at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival. Searchlight acquired the title in a bidding war but dropped the film the next year following the star’s conviction, and Briarcliff Entertainment ultimately released it in 2025.
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter for a cover story timed to
Magazine Dreams’release, Majors said he had been reading scripts and taking meetings in hopes of resuming his acting career: “Do I hope to make more movies? Absolutely. That is my intention. But that’s not my call. I don’t have a studio. And I’ve given up control.”
