Marjorie Taylor Greene Alleges Trump Told Her She Deserved Death Threats Over Epstein Files Rift
Marjorie Taylor Greene claims President Trump called her a traitor and told her she deserved death threats against her family after she pushed to release Jeffrey Epstein documents. The former congresswoman says Trump withdrew support and that GOP colleagues abandoned her amid escalating threats, forcing her to quit Congress.
Marjorie Taylor Greene, once a staunch Trump ally, alleges that after she advocated for the release of Jeffrey Epstein case documents, President Trump branded her a "traitor" and told her she deserved the death threats her family received.
Speaking at The Ron Paul Institute in Texas, Greene recounted how her efforts to push the Epstein files into the public domain put her at odds with Trump. She said, "President Trump's hand was forced to sign it. He didn't sign that because he supported it. He was forced." Shortly after, Trump publicly withdrew his support for her, endorsing a primary challenger instead.
The fallout was swift and brutal. Greene claims that none of her Republican colleagues came to her defense, and the threats against her family intensified. "They kept coming on my son, my youngest, my baby boy," she said. "We're going to snuff out his life. We're going to put a bullet in his head."
When Greene reached out to Trump and others in the administration about these threats, she alleges that Trump told her it was her fault and that she deserved it for betraying him. She even claims Trump texted her that if her son were killed, she would deserve it because she was a traitor. Greene says she saved these texts but fears legal repercussions if she makes them public.
The former congresswoman’s experience exposes a toxic dynamic within the GOP where loyalty to Trump trumps accountability and personal safety. Greene declared the Make America Great Again Movement dead, criticizing both parties for failing the country. "We are moving past Donald Trump," she said. "The quicker we move past him, the faster we get to the whiteboard... the quicker we're ahead of everybody else on the way to saving the country."
The White House did not directly address Greene’s claims about the texts. Instead, spokesperson Davis Ingle dismissed her as "a quitter who is pathetically trying to stay relevant," adding, "Unfortunately, Trump Derangement Syndrome has rotted former Congresswoman Greene's peanut-sized brain."
Greene’s allegations, if true, reveal a disturbing willingness by Trump to weaponize his base’s anger even against former allies, fostering an environment where threats and intimidation become tools of political enforcement. This episode underscores the corrosive impact of Trump’s leadership on democratic norms, party unity, and personal safety within political ranks.
