Melania Trump Denies Any Ties to Jeffrey Epstein Amid Renewed Scrutiny
Melania Trump has publicly slammed what she calls false claims linking her to Jeffrey Epstein, insisting she was never involved with the disgraced sex offender or his crimes. Her statement comes as new documents and social media posts revive questions about her past connections to Epstein’s circle.
First Lady Melania Trump stepped into the spotlight Thursday to fiercely reject allegations tying her to Jeffrey Epstein, the notorious sex offender whose network of abuse continues to unravel years after his death. In a rare White House statement, Melania declared, "I am not Epstein's victim," and denied that Epstein introduced her to her husband, former President Donald Trump.
"I have never had any knowledge of Epstein's abuse of his victims," Melania said, emphasizing that she was "never involved in any capacity" with Epstein or his crimes. She condemned those spreading these claims as "devoid of ethical standards" and accused them of trying to "defame my reputation."
Her statement notably called for Congress to hold a public hearing focused on Epstein’s survivors, suggesting that only through such transparency can the truth emerge. This appeal for accountability stands in stark contrast to the deflection and silence that often surrounded Epstein’s powerful enablers.
The timing of Melania’s statement was unclear, but it follows recent resurfacing of her 2002 email to Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s convicted accomplice, praising a New York magazine profile of Epstein and exchanging pleasantries. This email, part of millions of documents released by the Department of Justice, was highlighted in a February tweet thread by House Democrats investigating Epstein’s network.
In that 2002 New York magazine article, Donald Trump described Epstein as a "terrific guy" and acknowledged Epstein's fondness for "beautiful women," many "on the younger side." Melania’s email to Maxwell read: "Dear G! How are you? Nice story about JE in NY mag. You look great on the picture... I cannot wait to go down [to Palm Beach]."
Melania insists this email was merely a "casual correspondence" and insists she never had a relationship with Epstein or Maxwell. She claims her first encounter with Epstein was at a 2000 event alongside Donald Trump, at which point she had no knowledge of Epstein’s criminal activities.
She warned the public to be skeptical of "fake images and statements" circulating on social media, labeling them "completely false." Melania stressed that she is neither a witness nor named in any court documents, victim statements, or FBI interviews related to Epstein’s crimes.
While Melania Trump attempts to distance herself from Epstein, the broader Epstein saga continues to expose a web of powerful figures who either enabled or ignored systemic abuse. Her statement underscores the ongoing struggle for truth and accountability in a scandal that still haunts the highest echelons of power.
