Melania Trump Denies Epstein Ties, Calls for Congressional Hearings on Survivors

Melania Trump broke her silence Thursday to deny any connection to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking crimes, declaring, “I am not Epstein’s victim” and demanding an end to what she called “lies” linking her to the disgraced financier. Speaking from the White House, the first lady dismissed circulating rumors and fake images tying her to Epstein and his convicted accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell.

“The individuals lying about me are devoid of ethical standards, humility and respect,” Melania said, without naming specific accusers. She emphasized that her only interaction with Maxwell was a brief, polite email exchange she described as “casual correspondence,” and that she never met Epstein until 2000 at an event she attended with President Trump. She also denied that Epstein introduced her to Donald Trump, stating their meeting in 1998 was a chance encounter documented in her book.

Melania’s statement comes amid heightened scrutiny of the Trump family’s ties to Epstein. Rep. Robert Garcia, ranking Democrat on the House Oversight Committee, has indicated plans to subpoena both Donald and Melania Trump if Democrats regain control of the House. Garcia called for immediate public hearings featuring Epstein survivors, echoing the first lady’s call for transparency and sworn testimonies to be entered into the Congressional Record.

“Now is the time for Congress to act,” Melania said, highlighting that several powerful men resigned amid Epstein’s scandal but stressing that resignation does not equate to guilt. She urged lawmakers to give survivors their day in court publicly and under oath, pushing for a full reckoning.

Oversight Democrats have scheduled a “shadow” hearing in May with Epstein survivors in Palm Beach, near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, signaling ongoing pressure on the administration to confront Epstein’s legacy openly. Melania’s rare public statement on the issue underscores the persistent political and legal fallout from Epstein’s crimes and the Trump family’s controversial connections.

As investigations deepen, the first lady’s insistence on distancing herself from Epstein may be an attempt to contain the damage, but calls for accountability and survivor testimony are only growing louder. This story remains a critical front in the broader fight for truth and justice surrounding Epstein’s trafficking network and the powerful enablers who surrounded him.
