Melania Trump Denies Epstein Ties, Calls for Public Hearings While Dodging Accountability

Melania Trump stepped into the spotlight Thursday to deny any involvement with convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, declaring, “I am not Epstein’s victim” and demanding an end to what she calls “lies linking me with the disgraceful Jeffrey Epstein.” Her statement, delivered at the White House, was a rare public response amid swirling rumors and speculation about her and President Donald Trump’s ties to Epstein.

The first lady insisted she had no relationship with Epstein or his convicted accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell, dismissing any email exchanges with Maxwell as “casual correspondence” amounting to no more than a “trivial note.” Melania emphasized that her first encounter with Epstein was in 2000, well after she met Donald Trump in 1998, contradicting claims that Epstein introduced them.

She also highlighted that she has never been accused or implicated in any legal documents related to Epstein’s crimes, calling on Congress to hold public hearings to allow survivors to testify under oath. “Each and every woman should have her day to tell her story in public, if she wishes,” Melania said, framing transparency as the path to truth.

Yet this statement comes amid growing pressure from House Oversight Democrats who have threatened subpoenas for both Melania and Donald Trump to testify about their connections to Epstein if they regain the majority. Rep. Robert Garcia, the committee’s top Democrat, said the first lady’s call for hearings aligns with their planned “shadow” hearing in Palm Beach, Florida — home to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club and a known Epstein haunt.

President Trump reportedly was unaware of Melania’s statement beforehand, underscoring the unpredictable nature of the Epstein saga’s impact on the administration. While Melania paints herself as a bystander seeking justice for victims, the broader picture remains murky given Epstein’s extensive network of powerful allies and the Trumps’ documented social overlap with him.

This episode is yet another chapter in the ongoing effort to hold the Trump family accountable for their connections to Epstein’s criminal enterprise. Calls for transparency and survivor testimony are mounting, but the administration’s history of stonewalling and deflection suggests the fight for truth is far from over. The public deserves full disclosure, not carefully crafted denials.
