MTG Exposes Trump’s True Priority: Protecting Mar-a-Lago Friends Over Epstein Victims

Marjorie Taylor Greene, once a loyal Trump ally, has publicly detailed a disturbing conversation where former President Donald Trump urged her to remove her name from a discharge petition aimed at releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files. According to Greene, Trump’s concern was not justice for Epstein’s victims but protecting “good people” at his Mar-a-Lago resort who could be implicated by the documents.

Speaking to an audience in Texas, Greene recounted Trump’s exact words: “Marjorie, you’re going to have to take your name off that discharge petition. This is a Democrat hoax. My friends are going to get hurt if we release the Epstein files. These are people you know at Mar-a-Lago. People in Palm Beach—they’re going to get hurt by this.”

Greene pushed back hard, telling Trump, “People have been hurt. These women have been hurt. Have you talked to them? You should talk to them. You should have them in the Oval Office, Mr. President.” She pointed out the hypocrisy of the Oval Office welcoming everyone from sports teams to world leaders — even terrorists — but not survivors of Epstein’s abuses.

Despite Trump’s pressure, Greene refused to back down, declaring, “I’m not taking my name off the discharge petition.” Her defiance came at a cost: a bitter falling out with Trump that culminated in her announcement to resign from Congress by January 2026.

This clash highlights a broader pattern of Trump’s prioritization of personal and political loyalty over accountability. While the Department of Justice has begun a staggered release of millions of Epstein-related files, Trump has alternated between dismissing the case as “boring” and a “Democrat hoax” and later urging House Republicans to support releasing the documents.

Meanwhile, the DOJ’s inspector general has launched a review into how the department has handled the release of Epstein materials, including concerns from survivors about privacy breaches. Ironically, the audit will be led by Don Berthiaume, a Trump nominee, underscoring the ongoing tension within the department during Trump’s second term.

Greene’s revelations pull back the curtain on Trump’s real agenda: shielding his wealthy and powerful friends at Mar-a-Lago rather than seeking justice for Epstein’s victims. It’s a stark reminder that for Trump, loyalty and self-preservation come before truth and accountability.
