Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley and House Oversight Democrats have filed contempt charges against former Attorney General Pam Bondi for defying a bipartisan subpoena related to the Epstein investigation. Pressley and Oversight Dems File Contempt Charges Against Pam Bondi Over Epstein Cover-Up

Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley joined Ranking Member Robert Garcia and fellow Oversight Democrats today in filing a resolution to hold former Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi in civil contempt of Congress. Bondi refused to comply with a legally binding, bipartisan subpoena to testify about her handling of the Epstein files and the White House’s cover-up of critical information.

The resolution would authorize the House of Representatives to take Bondi to court to compel her testimony. Remarkably, less than an hour after the contempt filing, Oversight Republicans announced a date for Bondi’s deposition—an acknowledgment of the pressure mounting on those shielding Epstein’s enablers.

Pressley did not mince words during a media availability: “Whether you’re a politician, a prince, or a president—we will not let go and a reckoning is on the way.” She emphasized the stakes at hand, framing the fight as a matter of life and death for survivors who have endured decades of institutional betrayal protecting the wealthy and powerful.

The bipartisan subpoena was secured in March 2026 with support from Democrats and a handful of Republicans, including Nancy Mace and Lauren Boebert. Despite this, Bondi refused to appear for her deposition on April 14, 2026. The subpoena remains legally binding even after Bondi’s departure from office.

Pressley’s commitment to justice for survivors is deeply personal and consistent. She has championed legislation to end workplace harassment, protect survivors’ rights under Title IX, and address sexual violence in federal institutions. Her leadership on this issue signals a relentless push to hold those complicit in Epstein’s trafficking network accountable.

The Oversight Committee room, adorned with a painting of Elijah Cummings—a stalwart advocate for truth and accountability—now bears witness to a test of congressional power and integrity. The GOP majority’s tactics of canceling hearings and ignoring subpoenas clash with the committee’s mission to pursue truth efficiently and effectively.

This contempt filing marks a crucial step toward breaking the silence and shielding around Epstein’s powerful enablers. For survivors who have suffered unimaginable trauma, this fight is about reclaiming dignity and demanding justice. The reckoning Pressley promises is not just political theater—it is a necessary pursuit of accountability long denied.

We will be watching closely as this unfolds. The question remains: Will the institutions charged with oversight finally do their job, or continue to shield the corrupt and complicit? For survivors and the public, there is no time to wait.
