The board of supervisors is reviewing a proposal that would prohibit county-owned or county-controlled facilities from being used as staging areas for federal immigration raids.

The idea came from the country's Shield committee, which will present its initial findings to the board Tuesday.

If approved, the county would join Marina and Watsonville, which have already adopted similar measures.
