Saudi Prince Exposes Israeli Plot to Drag Gulf into Devastating War with Iran
Saudi Arabia’s Prince Turki al-Faisal reveals Riyadh refused to fall for an Israeli scheme to ignite a catastrophic war with Iran that would have destroyed the region. Despite massive Iranian attacks on Saudi infrastructure, the kingdom chose diplomacy over devastation — exposing the dangerous games fueling Middle East chaos.
Prince Turki al-Faisal, a senior Saudi royal and former head of the kingdom’s intelligence, has lifted the veil on a dangerous Israeli plan aimed at dragging Saudi Arabia into a full-scale war with Iran — a conflict that would have plunged the entire region into ruin.
Writing in the Saudi-owned Arab News, Prince Turki made clear that Saudi Arabia, under Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s de-facto leadership, deliberately avoided falling into what he called “an Israeli plan to ignite war between us and Iran.” The prince emphasized that Riyadh had initially worked hard to prevent this war and continues to pursue diplomatic solutions, even as Iran and others tried to “drag the Kingdom into the furnace of destruction.”
Prince Turki revealed that Saudi Arabia could have retaliated against Tehran’s strikes on its oil and desalination facilities but chose restraint to protect its citizens and infrastructure. He warned that had Saudi Arabia responded militarily, the conflict would have escalated, causing further devastation across the kingdom.
“Had the Israeli plan to ignite war between us and Iran succeeded, the region would have been plunged into ruin and destruction,” Prince Turki wrote. “Thousands of our sons and daughters would have been lost in a battle in which we had no stake. Israel would have succeeded in imposing its will on the region and remained the only actor in our surroundings.”
This admission sheds light on the shadowy forces pushing for military escalation in the Middle East — forces that seek to exploit regional tensions for their own strategic dominance. Prince Turki also noted ongoing Saudi collaboration with Pakistan aimed at preventing further escalation, signaling a regional desire to avoid the catastrophic consequences of war.
The backdrop to this warning is a sharp escalation following the US and Israel’s war on Iran that began on February 28. Iran retaliated by targeting all Gulf states hosting US bases, including Saudi Arabia. Iranian attacks have severely damaged Saudi oil infrastructure, including the East-West pipeline that carries roughly 700,000 barrels per day, or about 10 percent of Saudi exports, bypassing the Strait of Hormuz — a critical global oil chokepoint.
Iranian strikes have also hit refining plants in Jubail, Ras Tanura, Yanbu, and Riyadh, directly affecting Saudi Arabia’s ability to export refined products to global markets. This ongoing conflict underscores the human and economic toll of the proxy wars and covert agendas driving the region toward chaos.
Prince Turki’s candid revelations expose the reckless ambitions behind the scenes — ambitions that threaten not only Saudi Arabia but the entire Gulf region. His message is clear: Saudi Arabia will not be a pawn in schemes that sacrifice its people and stability for external powers’ geopolitical aims.
This story underscores the urgent need for transparency and accountability in the Middle East’s increasingly dangerous power plays. The Trump administration’s complicity in escalating tensions through military and economic warfare against Iran only adds fuel to the fire, risking wider destruction and undermining regional security.
We will continue to track how these shadow conflicts unfold and hold accountable those who push for war at the expense of peace and human lives.
