'SNL' cold open has Colin Jost back as Pete Hegseth ranting on Iran
Saturday Night Live was new this weekend, bringing back actor Ryan Gosling for his fourth time as host before his movie Project Hail Mary releases on March 20. Gorillaz joined as musical guest, with singer Harry Styles even making a guest appearance during the monologue. The recent news cycle has been full of updates, meaning there was plenty to work with for the cold open.
This week, SNL brought Colin Jost out again as Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth taking questions from the media on the war in Iran. Jost's Hegseth started with a keg stand of "Sprite" -- which he called a Heg-stand -- before antagonizing anyone that asked a question.
He handed things over to the recently reassigned former Director of Homeland Security Kristi Noem (played by Ashley Padilla) to say her farewells before starting her new role as special envoy for The Shield of the Americas.
