Son of Prominent Norwegian Diplomats Linked to Epstein Dies by Suicide Amid Corruption Probe

Edward Juul Rod-Larsen, 25, the son of Norway’s diplomatic power couple Mona Juul and Terje Rød-Larsen, has died by suicide in Oslo just days after authorities announced a joint investigation into his parents’ alleged financial entanglements with the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The shocking development was confirmed by the family’s lawyers and reported by The Times of London.

The investigation, led by Norwegian and French authorities, focuses on accusations that Juul and Rød-Larsen received financial assistance from Epstein, including help purchasing a luxury apartment in Oslo. Epstein’s 2019 will reportedly left $5 million to each of their two children, a move that has fueled suspicions of corruption. Norwegian police are working closely with their French counterparts in this probe.

Mona Juul and Terje Rød-Larsen are no ordinary diplomats. Juul, a former ambassador to the United Nations and to Jordan and Iraq, and Rød-Larsen, a sociologist and key architect of the 1993 Oslo Accords, have long been influential figures in international diplomacy. Their connection to Epstein has sent shockwaves through Norway’s diplomatic circles. Juul resigned from her ambassadorial post earlier this year amid mounting scrutiny after Epstein named their children in his will.

Norway’s anti-corruption agency, Økokrim, has been investigating the couple for suspected gross corruption, and Norway’s parliament has even approved an independent commission to probe Epstein’s ties to the country’s foreign ministry. Newly released U.S. Justice Department files have implicated several prominent Norwegian figures, amplifying the scandal.

The family denies any criminal wrongdoing. While Juul and Rød-Larsen have acknowledged contact with Epstein, their attorneys have condemned the public speculation and demanded privacy as they grieve. The tragic death of their son, who was not accused of any crime, underscores the dark and far-reaching consequences of Epstein’s web of influence.

This case adds another grim chapter to the Epstein saga, highlighting how his corrupt network extended into the highest echelons of global diplomacy. As investigations continue, the world watches how deep the rot goes and who else might be implicated in this sprawling scandal.
