President Donald Trump will lean into his “energy dominance” messaging Friday during a speech in Texas ahead of the Lone Star State’s primary elections next week.
Trump’s remarks slated for Friday afternoon in Corpus Christi will focus on the economy and fossil fuel production, the White House said ahead of the speech. His visit comes ahead of Tuesday’s closely watched primaries in the state and offer an early glimpse of the administration’s plans to lean heavily on energy as they make their case to voters to elect Republicans in this year’s midterm elections across the country.
“President Trump looks forward to returning to the great State of Texas this week to discuss the economy and tout his ‘Drill Baby Drill’ agenda,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Friday in a statement.
