Trump Vetoed Colorado Water Bill to Punish Boebert for Epstein Files Vote
President Trump reportedly retaliated against MAGA ally Lauren Boebert for her pivotal vote to release the Epstein files by vetoing a crucial water project for Colorado. This move highlights the administration’s willingness to weaponize policy against lawmakers who defy its wishes on exposing elite corruption.
In a stunning display of political retribution, former President Donald Trump vetoed a bill that would have brought much-needed water infrastructure to a large portion of Colorado, all because Rep. Lauren Boebert dared to vote in favor of releasing the Jeffrey Epstein files. The revelation comes from Rep. Thomas Massie, a Kentucky Republican who led the charge to make the Epstein documents public.
Massie told The Tucker Carlson Show that Boebert was summoned to the White House Situation Room—normally reserved for national security emergencies like hunting Osama bin Laden—and pressured to withdraw her support for the discharge petition that forced a full House vote on the Epstein files. Despite this intense intimidation, Boebert stood firm.
The Epstein Files Transparency Act, which passed Congress with near-unanimous support, aimed to shed light on the sex trafficking ring run by disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein and expose the powerful enablers who helped him evade justice. Trump, who had a decades-long friendship with Epstein before their relationship ended in the 2000s, initially resisted the files’ release, dismissing it as a “Democrat hoax” and urging his MAGA base to ignore the scandal.
After the bill’s passage, Trump was forced to sign the act into law last November. But his apparent vendetta against Boebert shows he was far from done fighting back. By vetoing the water project bill, Trump effectively punished Colorado residents for their representative’s vote to hold the Epstein network accountable.
In his veto statement, Trump claimed the water project was “too costly and inefficient,” a justification that rings hollow given the political context. Massie questioned the morality of depriving people of essential resources simply because their elected official dared to expose a sex trafficking ring tied to the powerful elite.
Neither the White House nor Boebert’s office responded to requests for comment. But this episode lays bare the Trump administration’s pattern of using government power to intimidate and retaliate against those who challenge its corrupt interests.
As the Epstein files continue to unravel networks of abuse and cover-up, the stakes have never been higher. The fight for transparency and justice will require lawmakers willing to withstand pressure from the highest levels of power—even when it comes at a cost to their constituents.
