Trump’s War on Iran Was a Calculated Lie Fueled by Netanyahu and Propaganda

Trump’s military escalation against Iran wasn’t a rash decision but a carefully manufactured deception. Driven by Netanyahu’s push for war and amplified by misleading media narratives, the campaign ignored the real voices of Iranians and the facts on the ground — putting Americans and Iranians at risk for political gain.

Trump’s War on Iran Was a Calculated Lie Fueled by Netanyahu and Propaganda

The Trump administration’s war on Iran wasn’t about national security or protecting Americans. It was a manufactured crisis designed to escalate military conflict, sabotage diplomacy, and distract from mounting domestic scandals. The real architects behind this deception included Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and a compliant information ecosystem that twisted facts and amplified false narratives.

Axios revealed that Netanyahu’s February 23 phone call to Trump provided a so-called “pivotal intelligence prompt” — a tip that Iran’s top leadership would be gathered in one place, making them a target for a single strike. But senior Trump aides dismissed many of Netanyahu’s broader predictions about Iran’s weakness as “farcical.” This echoes the overconfident salesmanship that has led the U.S. into disastrous wars before.

Meanwhile, Iran International, a Saudi-backed media outlet aligned with Israeli messaging, pushed the false narrative that Iranians welcomed U.S. strikes as a path to regime change. Yet multiple reports showed the opposite: many Iranians protested nightly in support of their government and against foreign aggression. Selective clips of supposed gratitude were contradicted by widespread fear, anger, and anxiety about ongoing bombings and repression.

Reuters imagery from Tehran in March captured anti-U.S. and anti-Israel rallies, including demonstrators burning effigies of Trump and Netanyahu. These images debunk the myth that bombing was broadly welcomed by the Iranian public. The reality was a divided, wounded society terrified of foreign bombs and domestic crackdowns.

Americans should care because the human and political costs are immense. Polls show 60% of Americans opposed U.S. strikes on Iran, and only 7% supported a large ground war. Inside Iran, a campaign called “Janfada” has mobilized millions ready to defend the country against invasion, signaling fierce resistance rather than surrender.

This is not a defense of the Iranian regime but a rejection of the lie that opposing war means endorsing dictatorship. True solidarity with the Iranian people means standing for ceasefire, diplomacy, truthful reporting, and civilian protection — not buying into recycled war propaganda repackaged for a new era.

The Trump administration’s war on Iran was a cynical ploy. We must expose the lies and demand accountability before more lives are lost to manufactured conflicts.
