Wyden and Warren Demand Answers from FHFA Director Pulte Over $65,000 Charity Donation Linked to Trump Allies
Senators Ron Wyden and Elizabeth Warren are probing Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Bill Pulte over a $65,000 donation from his nonprofit to a mysterious entity tied to Trump’s legal team. The donation raises red flags about possible misuse of charitable funds to support Trump’s post-2020 election efforts.
Senators Ron Wyden (D-Ore.) and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) have fired off a sharp letter to Bill Pulte, head of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), demanding clarity about a suspicious $65,000 donation made by his nonprofit, Team Pulte Inc., in 2023. The donation was reportedly given to One World Love LLC, an entity that recent investigations show is not a legitimate charity but rather a corporate shell linked to a law firm that represented Donald Trump after the January 6 insurrection.
According to Team Pulte’s 2023 IRS filing, the $65,000 was designated for “assitance [sic] to underserved people.” But the senators highlight glaring inconsistencies: One World Love LLC does not appear to be a registered nonprofit devoted to charitable work. Instead, it was formed in 2021 in Wyoming by Jason Greaves, a partner at the Binnall Law Group—a firm deeply involved in defending Trump’s baseless election fraud claims and legal battles following January 6.
Wyden and Warren’s letter points out that the address listed for One World Love LLC on Team Pulte’s IRS form is incorrect and likely fabricated. The actual Wyoming filings list a different address that does not exist in Alexandria, Virginia, and the Employer Identification Number (EIN) associated with One World doesn’t match any known tax-exempt organization. The senators note that the only known grant to One World came from Team Pulte Inc., raising questions about the true purpose of the donation.
The Binnall Law Group, which created One World Love LLC, has been paid over $4.5 million by Trump-aligned political action committees between 2022 and 2024. Jesse Binnall and Jason Greaves, partners at the firm, have played key roles in advancing Trump’s false voter fraud claims and defending him in multiple lawsuits.
Wyden and Warren are demanding documents, communications, and explanations from Pulte and Team Pulte’s current president Joshua Hinkle to understand how this $65,000 was used and why the IRS filing contained such significant errors. They warn that the donation could represent an illegal diversion of charitable funds to benefit Trump’s political and legal apparatus.
This inquiry exposes yet another tangled web of connections between Trump’s allies and questionable financial dealings. It raises urgent questions about accountability and transparency at the highest levels of government and nonprofit management. The senators’ investigation is a critical step toward uncovering whether public trust and charity laws were violated to prop up Trump’s post-election schemes.
