Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee: Statement on JD Vance visit to WI-03
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee criticized Derrick Van Orden for his record on healthcare, tariffs, and support for policies perceived as harming Western Wisconsin residents. The statement highlighted Van Orden's votes and actions related to Medicaid cuts, trade tariffs, veteran services, and healthcare repeal efforts, asserting that he has neglected the needs of his constituents. The DCCC expressed confidence that voters will replace him in the upcoming election.
Following Trump’s snub of Derrick Van Orden at the State of the Union – and ahead of JD Vance’s visit to WI-03 – DCCC spokesperson Katie Smith released the following statement:
“No amount of spin can save Derrick Van Orden from his awful record of gutting rural health care, backing price-spiking tariffs, and devastating farmers’ livelihoods. Van Orden crusades for his party bosses, who won’t even shake his hand, while leaving regular families behind. Western Wisconsin deserves better than Van Orden’s failed leadership and will fire him this November.”
