The President's comments came just days after a fatal shooting involving a 21-year-old man who attempted to breach a secure perimeter at the Mar-a-Lago resort in West Palm Beach.
He was allegedly armed with a shotgun and a gas canister.
The incident occurred at approximately 1.30 am local time (6.30 am GMT).
It happened whilst President Trump was hundreds of miles away in Washington, having hosted a dinner at the White House, reports the Express.
The suspect was subsequently identified as Austin Tucker Martin, a 21-year-old from North Carolina, who officials confirmed had been reported missing after leaving his home several days prior. This most recent episode came on the heels of an assassination attempt in July 2024.
Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, fired shots at a rally before being fatally shot by Secret Service on Saturday, July 13 of that year.
