Goodlander says Trump never should have 'incited violence' in Democrats' military video response
New Hampshire Rep. Maggie Goodlander criticized President Trump for threatening her and five other Democrats over a video encouraging military members to refuse illegal orders, calling Trump's comments an incitement to violence. A Washington grand jury declined to indict Goodlander and the others, and the case was dropped by U.S. Attorney Jeanne Pirro. Additionally, a judge issued a temporary injunction preventing the Pentagon from disciplining Senator Mark Kelly, another former Navy captain who participated in the video.
Goodlander says Trump never should have ‘incited violence’ in Democrats’ military video response
WASHINGTON (WCAX) - New Hampshire Rep. Maggie Goodlander on Tuesday spoke out about President Trump threatening her and five other Democrats who participated in a video last year that encouraged military members to refuse illegal orders.
The president last year described the video as “seditious behavior - punishable by death.”
But a grand jury in Washington earlier this month refused to indict Goodlander and the five other Democratic lawmakers, and U.S. Attorney Jeanne Pirro decided on Tuesday to officially drop the case.
“The president never should have incited violence against us,” said Goodlander, who served as an intelligence officer in the Navy for over a decade.
In a separate decision this month, a judge issued a preliminary injunction that temporarily blocks the Pentagon from disciplining Senator Mark Kelly, a retired Navy captain and astronaut, who also took part in the video.
