"I'm Glad A Decade Later You've Come To Your Senses": The Internet Is Brutally Roasting ...
A former Trump supporter has publicly announced his disillusionment after witnessing Trump's comments on the Epstein files, expressing outrage over perceived corruption and cover-ups involving powerful elites and child trafficking. His post, shared on Reddit, denounces the political system and states he will never vote again, symbolized by throwing away his MAGA hat. The internet community responded with sarcasm and criticism, questioning his change of stance and highlighting broader issues with political hypocrisy and national discontent.
The Internet Is Having A Field Day Dragging This Ex-MAGA Who Realized They Were On The Wrong Side Of History A Teeny Bit Too Late
There are plenty of stories online about Trump supporters who finally see the light. Oftentimes, it takes a personal tragedy for them to abandon longheld views, such as ICE detaining their dying family member or their own government benefits being revoked.
But sometimes the turning point isn't a life-altering event. For one longtime Trump supporter, it was a single comment Trump made about the Epstein files. Initially posted to Facebook, his MAGA break-up announcement has made its way to the r/LeopardsAteMyFace subreddit, where it has sparked lots of commentary.
Here's what the full post says: "I was one of Trump's biggest supporters. I defended him through everything. Media attacks, investigations, indictments, nonstop chaos. I stuck by him because I believed he was different. I believed he was going to drain the swamp. I believed he was going to expose the corruption. I believed he was going to take down the people hurting children. That was the whole point. He campaigned on cleaning house. On exposing elite criminals. On protecting kids. And I bought it. Fully."
(Cont'd) "So when I watched him talk about the Epstein files a couple days ago, with my own eyes, and say, 'It's time to move on. We have better things to worry about,' that was the moment everything switched. Move on? Move on from children being trafficked? Move on from powerful people abusing minors? Move on from elites being protected? I can't move on from that."
(Cont'd) "The more I look into it, the more it feels like the same pattern. Protect the powerful. Cover up the truth, shift focus. If you campaigned on exposing corruption and then dismissed the biggest corruption scandal involving minors in modern history, what conclusion am I supposed to draw? Either you're in on it. You're protecting someone. Or you never meant what you said. And that's betrayal. I'm not a Democrat. I'm not a liberal. I aligned more closely with Republicans because their values matched mine more closely. But I'm done pretending there's some moral high ground in either party."
(Cont'd) "It's not Republican vs. Democrat. It's not left vs. right. It's not red vs. blue. It's us vs. them. They divide us with race baiting, culture wars, endless outrage cycles, while they protect their own, grow their wealth, and tighten control. Meanwhile, regular people fight each other for scraps. And I'm not playing that game anymore. He didn't just disappoint critics. He alienated the people who believed in him the most."
(Cont'd) "I know I'm not the only one who saw that moment and felt the shift. So no, I'm not a Republican. I'm not a Democrat. I'm officially nothing. I'm never voting again. If this is how the system works, I'm not participating in it again. Your Attorney General said if they prosecuted everyone in the files, the system would collapse. Let it collapse, let it burn with all these sick fucks in it. RIP MAGA."
And to really drive the "RIP MAGA" message home, the poster includes this photo of their MAGA hat being thrown in the trash.

On Reddit, many people struggled to understand why this particular comment was the breaking point for him... given that Trump has said many, many comments like this in the past.
"I'd be more sympathetic if they hadn't spent 10 years ignoring everyone desperately trying to explain this to them," one person said.
Another wrote, "'Media attacks, investigations, indictments, nonstop chaos' were all things done to try and stop him and try to warn you at every opportunity. But I'm glad a decade later you've come to your senses."

Other people wondered why this man's outrage for Epstein's victims didn't extend to any other vulnerable communities Trump has harmed, such as women, immigrants, Black people, and people with disabilities.
One person wrote: "Mmm, well, they like our tax dollars going to ICE, basically a modern-day Gestapo, to abuse and kill immigrants and even U.S. citizens. The government murdered two innocent U.S. citizens in broad daylight. They are fine with women dying because of abortion bans."
(Cont'd) "They support the racism wrapped up in 'anti-DEI' initiatives, which really just means erasing and oppressing minorities. But at least it is not 'woke,' right? They cheer on aggressive tariffs while the economy, education, and our international relationships burn. They are happy to wreck healthcare, even their own. 'No more jabs,' right? Meanwhile, babies and children suffer through measles outbreaks. They ignore the billions that Trump and his circle have made through blatant corruption."
(Cont'd) "So, after walking through the ashes of a democracy they helped burn down, suddenly this is the line? This, the one thing we all warned them about, is where they decide to draw it? It mattered in 2024. It is too late for their regrets as they wallow in ashes together with us."
One commenter boiled it all down even more succinctly, saying: "That’s a lot of words when he could have just said 'I’m gullible' or 'I lack critical thinking skills.'"
"Wonder if he got a headache from experiencing his first critical thought in 10 years," someone else wrote.
"If only this dipshit had spent five minutes checking on Trump’s history of rape and fraud. But they’d probably say it was a democrat hoax," another added.
And finally, one person couldn't help but point out the man's arm-length tattoo that appears to read "Michelle." They joked, "Judging by his tattoo, he’s Mr. great life choices."
We can only hope he doesn't change his mind about Michelle like he did about Trump...
