White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt drew criticism on social media after wearing expensive designer footwear during Trump's affordability-focused Texas visit
Karoline Leavitt faced intense criticism online after being photographed wearing an extravagant accessory during President Donald Trump's affordability crisis tour.
The White House Press Secretary ignited backlash on social media when an image surfaced of her sporting $990 Gucci Princetown slippers during the president's visit to Texas. The luxury footwear proved to be an unfortunate choice, with critics immediately taking to the comments.
In a social media post sharing the photograph, which appeared to show her aboard an aircraft, one account commented, "Karoline Leavitt wearing $990 Gucci Princetown slippers during Trump's trip to Texas. She has no clue how Trump's affordability crisis is impacting Americans."

The comments section quickly filled with harsh reactions to the 28-year-old and her expensive shoe selection. One user remarked, "No clue. Myself and every woman I know most likely have no shoes over $100 maybe $150. And that is because anything quality is at least that. $900 is a mortgage payment."
Another chimed in, "None of them pump their own gas or purchase their own groceries. They can talk about inflation when they have to walk to 5 markets to get the fair price or go without," reports the Irish Star.
A third person vented, "She had sugar Daddy get her pregnant, so she can marry a rich man and buy overpriced shoes. Her sugar daddy is old enough to be her Grandpa."
A fourth person commented, "Pls don't give her this much credit - every fashion girl knows the Princetown has been washed up and over-worn since 2018 + anyone with Amazon Prime can have the dupes for $30 by tomorrow morning."
A fifth person remarked, "A hungry person could feed their family for a couple months; one should snatch them right off her feet and @PressSec should happily give them up to feed someone if she were a REAL AMERICAN, and not some fascist foop."
The reaction followed a health briefing about the president that was provided by Karoline on Thursday, February 26, during a live Fox News segment from the White House.
The statement was issued after some viewers noticed that Trump seemed to be "falling asleep" during televised meetings. Leavitt informed the press, "This is a summary from the President's physician. As part of President Trump's comprehensive executive physical, advanced imaging was performed because men in his age group benefit from a thorough evaluation of cardiovascular and abdominal health.
"The purpose of this imaging is preventative, to identify any issues early, confirm overall health, and ensure the President maintains a long-term vitality and function. President Trump's cardiovascular imaging was perfectly normal. No evidence of arterial narrowing impairing blood flow or abnormalities in the heart or major vessels."
She went on: "The heart chambers are normal in size, the vessel walls appear smooth and healthy, and there are no signs of inflammation or clotting. Overall, his cardiovascular system shows excellent. His abdominal imaging is also perfectly normal. All major organs appear very healthy and well perfused.
"Everything evaluated is functioning within normal limits with no acute or chronic concerns. In summary, this level of detailed assessment... confirms that he remains in excellent overall health."
