The White House press secretary became a target for scathing trolls after she appeared in a photograph wearing an eye-wateringly expensive pair of shoes while on an affordability tour

Karoline Leavit was mercilessly mocked by trolls after she was seen wearing a very expensive accessory during President Donald Trump's affordability crisis tour.

The White House Press Secretary sparked fury on social media when she was seen posing with a pair of $990 Gucci Princetown slippers on her feet during the president's trip to Texas. The pricey footwear appeared to be a poor choice with trolls who were quick to slam her for the look.

Taking to social media to shared the image of her, where she appeared to be on board a plane, one account wrote, "Karoline Leavitt wearing $990 Gucci Princetown slippers during Trump’s trip to Texas. She has no clue how Trump’s affordability crisis is impacting Americans."

Others then rushed to the comments section where they gave their own scathing take on Karoline, 28, and her shoes. One posted, "No clue. Myself and every woman I know most likely have no shoes over $100 maybe $150. And that is because anything quality is at least that. $900 is a mortgage payment."

A second said, "None of them pump their own gas or purchase their own groceries. They can talk about inflation when they have to walk to 5 markets to get the fair price or go without."

A third fumed, "She had sugar Daddy get her pregnant, so she can marry a rich man and buy overpriced shoes. Her sugar daddy is old enough to be her Grandpa."

A fourth shared, "Pls don’t give her this much credit - every fashion girl knows the Princetown has been washed up & over-worn since 2018 + anyone with Amazon Prime can have the dupes for $30 by tomorrow morning." A fifth added, "A hungry person could feed their family for a couple months; one should snatch them right off her feet and @PressSec should happily give them up to feed someone if she were a REAL AMERICAN, and not some fascist foop."

The response comes after a medical update on the president was delivered by Karoline on Thursday, February 26, during a live Fox News broadcast from the White House.

The announcement came after some viewers observed that Trump appeared to be "falling asleep" during televised meetings. Leavitt told the press, "This is a summary from the President's physician. As part of President Trump's comprehensive executive physical, advanced imaging was performed because men in his age group benefit from a thorough evaluation of cardiovascular and abdominal health.

"The purpose of this imaging is preventative, to identify any issues early, confirm overall health, and ensure the President maintains a long-term vitality and function. President Trump's cardiovascular imaging was perfectly normal. No evidence of arterial narrowing impairing blood flow or abnormalities in the heart or major vessels."

She continued, "The heart chambers are normal in size, the vessel walls appear smooth and healthy, and there are no signs of inflammation or clotting. Overall, his cardiovascular system shows excellent. His abdominal imaging is also perfectly normal. All major organs appear very healthy and well perfused.

"Everything evaluated is functioning within normal limits with no acute or chronic concerns. In summary, this level of detailed assessment... confirms that he remains in excellent overall health."
