Lawmakers consider bill concerning those convicted in connection with Jan. 6 attack - WBAL
State lawmakers in Annapolis are considering a bill that would prohibit individuals convicted of involvement in the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol attack, as well as those pardoned by President Trump, from serving on state boards, committees, or similar groups. The bill, Senate-sponsored and referred to a committee, has prominent supporters including Senate President Bill Ferguson.

Lawmakers in Annapolis are considering a bill this session that involves those convicted in the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the Capitol.
The bill would ban anyone who was convicted in connection with the attack from serving on a board, committee, commission, task force or workgroup created by state law.
The bill in the Senate has plenty of sponsors, including Maryland Senate President Bill Ferguson and Sen. Jim Rosapepe. Itβs been referred to a committee.
It also applies to anyone involved on that day who received a pardon from President Donald Trump.
