Trump Gifted Marco Rubio $145 Shoes — And They’re Clearly Way Too Big

Secretary of State Marco Rubio was kicked to the curb metaphorically on Wednesday after photos of him wearing shoes that were obviously too big made their rounds on social media.

The photo went viral after The Wall Street Journal reported on Monday that Florsheim shoes are President Donald Trump’s latest sartorial obsession ― and he has started giving out pairs of oxfords to staffers like Rubio and Vice President JD Vance.

But rather than actually asking White House employees their shoe size, Trump prefers to guess what it is, and then have the $145 shoes sent to the White House a week later.

Trump has reportedly also sent the shoes to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Howard Lutnick, Sen. Lindsey Graham and Tucker Carlson.

“All of the boys have them,” one female White House official quipped to the Journal, while another staffer said Trump’s shoe gifts are “hysterical because everybody’s afraid not to wear them.”

Back in January, The New York Times reported that Trump had given Rubio and Vance four pairs of shoes each.

The WSJ article notes that the president first brought up the shoe issue in December, telling Rubio and Vance, “Marco, JD, you guys have ****** shoes.”

Apparently, Rubio went along with the program, even though the shoes the president picked out seemed to be ill-fitting, as this photo from January demonstrates.

The January photo of Rubio’s excessively large shoes went viral, and as expected, he was mocked on social media.

In a photo taken Feb. 15 while meeting with Slovakian President Peter Pellegrini, the secretary of state is seen wearing shoes that seem to fit better.

HuffPost reached out to both Rubio’s office and to Florsheim for comment, but neither immediately responded.
